UCB Brings Big Laughs to Manhattan

Upright Citizens Brigade (UCB) is a cornerstone of New York City’s comedy scene, with a legacy rooted in bold, innovative humor. Founded in 1990 by Amy Poehler, Matt Besser, Ian Roberts, and Matt Walsh, UCB began as a comedy troupe before growing into one of the most influential training grounds and performance spaces for improv and sketch comedy in the country. Many of today’s most recognizable comedians and writers got their start on a UCB stage, including Donald Glover, Kate McKinnon, Ellie Kemper, Aubrey Plaza, and more.

Now based in Manhattan, at 242 E 14th St, UCB continues that tradition with nightly shows featuring high-energy improv, sharp sketch comedy, and experimental performances that highlight both rising talent and seasoned performers. Its intimate theaters create an electric, unpredictable atmosphere where no two shows are ever the same.

Whether you’re a devoted comedy fan or just looking for a memorable night out, UCB delivers smart, fast-paced laughs in the heart of the city. To buy tickets and view their full show schedule, check out their website. Tickets typically range from $5 to $10.
