The Ultimate Kips Bay Court Resident Summer Bucket List

There’s nothing like summer in the city, and we want to make sure that everyone at Kips Bay Court is taking full advantage of the beautiful weather. So, we’ve compiled a bucket list catered to you, with something for anyone and everyone.

VINTAGE GREEN ROOFTOP

303 Lexington Ave Fl 16

Perched on the 16th floor of the Shelburne Sonesta in Murray Hill, Vintage Green Rooftop is an 11,000 sq ft indoor–outdoor garden oasis featuring retractable glass atrium, lush greenery, and sweeping 360° views of the Empire State, Chrysler Buildings, and the East River  . With craft cocktails, fine wines, and chef-driven small plates like oysters, caviar, hot dogs, and pizza, plus summer pop-up performances, from magicians to musicians, it’s the perfect spot for a memorable evening under the city lights.

MOVIE AT THE KIPS BAY AMC

570 2nd Ave

On a sweltering summer day, the Kips Bay AMC 15 on 2nd Avenue offers a perfectly chilly escape with its air-conditioned auditoriums that provide sweet relief from the heat. With comfy recliners, stadium seating, and modern amenities, it’s a go-to spot for mainstream and indie releases. Just watch out: NYC AMC locations, including Kips Bay, occasionally run hot in smaller theaters -- moviegoers on Reddit note how “their theater is usually pretty cold” but smaller rooms can feel stuffy, turning summer matinees into an all-too-cozy experience. Still, it’s an ideal pit stop when the city’s blistering sunshine gets too much.

PICNIC IN MADISON SQUARE PARK

11 Madison Ave

Warm weather always calls for a picnic, and what better place to do so than Madison Square Park? Located only 11 minutes from Kips Bay Court by foot, Madison Square Park is an ideal location for residents to go and relax with some snacks. Bask in the sun with views of the Flatiron building and a conveniently placed Shake Shack!

TIPSY SCOOP

215 E 26th St

When the weather gets warm, there are two things we love to do: eat ice cream and have a nice cocktail. At Tipsy Scoop, they’ve combined the two! Tipsy Scoop ice cream is infused with alcohol, making it the perfect summer afternoon treat. Each of their ice cream flavors contains at least 5% ABV, and they have all kinds of flavors, such as Strawberry White Sangria Sorbet and Sour Power Cherry Vodka Sour ice cream. Luckily for all Kips Bay Court residents above the age of 21, it’s only a 4-minute walk away.

TAKE THE TRAM TO ROOSEVELT ISLAND

254 E 60th St

Everyone knows NYC for their subways and buses, but everyone seems to forget about their coolest form of travel: the Roosevelt Island Tram. For Kips Bay Court residents, getting to the tram couldn’t be easier. Just hop on the M15-SBS train for 4 stops, getting off at 57th, and walk to the Tramway Plaza on 60th! While on the tram you’ll get a view of NYC unlike any other, and once you get to Roosevelt Island there is lots to explore. Make sure to visit the Blackwell Island Lighthouse and the Franklin D. Roosevelt Four Freedoms Park.
